  • Web Design: WordPress Theme Creation, Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, InDesign), Microsoft Expression Suite, HTML/XHTML, CSS. Full knowledge of W3C web standards.
  • Web Development: PHP, SQL, XSLT, jQuery.
  • SEO and Information Architecture: Experience and success in optimising websites for Search Engines whilst simultaneously optimising them for users.
  • Accessibility and Usability: I have always had an enthusiasm about creating sites that are easy to use and that are accessible by all.

Experience

Holiday I.T. Ltd : Website Design Co-ordinator October 2006 – December 2008

  • Holiday I.T. Ltd were a Software Development company who specialise in CMS and Booking engines for villa management companies.
  • Responsibilities: When at Holiday I.T. I was able to progress my creative abilities by designing systems and websites for clients to the specifications they required. My day to day tasks included Design, Frontend Development, requirements gathering and client liaison.
  • During my time at the company I also provided support for software systems they already had in place. I created Help systems and F.A.Q.s for clients so that they can use the systems effectively.

Visit I.T. Ltd : Front End Designer December 2008 – 2009

  • Visit I.T. Ltd is a software development company based in the North East of England offering niche ‘software as a service’ solutions and content management based website solutions using Microsoft platforms and technologies.
  • Responsibilities: Front end design for software developed by the company. Full support to clients for the software / websites and systems we provide. Client liaison. Designing websites for clients. Directory Cover design and implementation. Icon creation for the software the company create.

Freelance Web Designer

  • Clients from all sectors, such as Engineering and Consultancy.
  • I have enjoyed freelancing greatly. It has helped me in how I progress projects as deadlines are often tight or change without much notice, but every project is delivered on time and budget.
  • Creating high quality work and communicating with the client at all stages to ensure a great website is always produced.

First Search Consultancy : Web Designer May 2009 – Current

  • First Search Consultancy specialise in all aspects of search marketing. They also also design, build and host a variety of stylish company websites for a range of clients.
  • Responsibilities: Whilst being at First Search Consultancy I have been in charge of design and development of website packages provided by the company. Creating fully bespoke sites and making sure that the SEO is all correct to help the client rank on Search engines.
  • I also create WordPress themes for clients who wish to use a CMS.
